This coffee hails from western Uganda, specifically the Rwenzori region, where we have seen the quality of Arabica coffee continually rising over the last decade. Grown by many small holders, this coffee is planted interspersed with other staple crops and provides another income source for this developing region.
This coffee is naturally processed, enhancing the fruitiness, and the cherries were float-sorted to ensure only ripe coffee was included. We selected a light roast profile to preserve the fruitier notes, orange and strawberry, which add interest to an approachable flavor profile of sweet almond cake.
